Tissue Cassette Types

There are two kinds of tissue cassettes, slotted cassettes and mesh biopsy cassettes.

Slotted Cassettes

Tissue Cassette Maintenance

1. Select the Appropriate Cassette for the Desired Sample.

Tissue fragments shrink during processing. If the cassette is perforated too much, debris may escape into the processing reagent, or worse, transfer to another sample.

2. Avoid Sample Overload

Be aware of the capacity of the cassette and do not overload the cassette with tissue. If processing continues in this state, samples will likely be distorted and processing may be incomplete.
