1. Preparation Before Test

1.1 sample type: venous blood 2ml (the sample should be fresh, pay attention to avoid pollution, hemolysis, and suspected blood clot)

1.2 patient preparation: the patient is in a quiet state, and is little affected by factors such as spirit, physical strength, etc.

1.3 Sampling tube: collect blood samples with Sodium Citrate Anticoagulant Tube (109 mmol/L (3.2%) citrate anticoagulant)

2. Blood Sample Collection and Storage

① The amount of blood taken each time shall be sufficient for two (separate or repeated) tests. If the sample is not enough, the results cannot be confirmed or repeated.

② Collect blood samples with sodium citrate blood tube, which shall be fully mixed without doubt block, hemolysis, etc.

③ The blood sample should avoid fat blood, the ratio of anti doubt agent to blood should be correct, the increase of anti doubt agent concentration will slow down ESR, and the blood draw should be completed within the 30s. Disinfectant should be mixed to avoid the formation of a clot

④Samples must be determined within 2 hours after collection. If the measurement cannot be completed within 2 hours, please refrigerate or freeze it according to the use. The refrigeration temperature is between 2-10 ° C; The freezing temperature is equal to or lower than 20 ° C.

4. Operation Steps

4.1 fully mix the sample, draw the mixed sample with an Esr Test Tube to the "0" scale. Wipe off the attached blood outside the tube and erect the tube on the ESR rack.

4.2 record the time, stand still at room temperature for 1 hour, observe the plasma height, and report in millimeters of erythrocyte subsidence

4.3 Result Review: whether the test number on the ESR rack, the number on the application form, and the test time are accurate

5. ESR Normal Range

< 50 years old: male 0-15mm / h, female 0-20mm / h

>50 years old: male 0-20mm / h, female 0-30mm / h

>85 years old: male 0-30mm / h, female 0-42mm / h

Children: 0-10mm / h

6. ESR Test Results

Faster-Than-Normal: common in all kinds of inflammation, tuberculosis and rheumatism activity period, tissue damage, anemia, and hyperglobulin hemoglobin, malignant tumor, and so on.

Lower-Than-Normal: common in polycythemia, severe liver damage, dehydration, and the use of anti-inflammatory drugs.
